How it works

Three steps, one phone call

STEP 01

Tell us about the van

What you are buying, how much you need and how long you want to pay it over. If you have not picked a van yet, that is fine, we will work off a budget.

STEP 02

See who fits

We show you the lenders on our panel whose caravan policy matches your situation, with indicative rates and repayments.

STEP 03

A broker calls you

We confirm the numbers, tell you what documents you need, and take the application from there through to settlement.

Why use a broker

Caravan policy is not car policy

Lenders treat caravans differently to cars, and the differences are where deals get declined.

Age limits are stricter

Many lenders cap how old a van can be at the end of the loan, not the start. That quietly shortens the term you can get on an older van.

Private sales need handling

A lot of vans change hands privately. That means payout letters, PPSR checks and inspections, and not every lender will fund it.

Not every lender does vans

Caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes each sit under different policies. We only show you lenders whose policy covers what you are buying.

Terms can run longer

Some lenders offer longer terms on caravans than on cars, which changes the repayment picture. It also changes the total interest, so we show you both.

Questions

The ones we get asked most

Can I finance a caravan bought privately?
Usually yes. Private sales need a bit more paperwork than a dealer purchase, including a PPSR check to confirm there is no money owing on the van, and the lender pays the seller directly. Not every lender funds private sales, so it is worth checking before you put a deposit down.
How old can the caravan be?
It depends on the lender. Most set a maximum age for the van at the end of the loan term rather than the start, so an older van often means a shorter term. Some lenders have no age cap at all. Tell us the year and we will tell you who will look at it.
What loan term can I get?
Caravan loans commonly run between one and seven years. The right term is a balance: a longer term lowers the repayment but increases the total interest you pay. The calculator on this page shows you both so you can see the trade-off.
Can I put a balloon or final payment on it?
Some lenders allow a balloon on caravans and some do not. A balloon parks part of the loan as a lump sum at the end, which lowers your regular repayment but leaves an amount owing when the term finishes. We will tell you whether it is available and what it actually costs you.
Will checking my options affect my credit score?
No. Using the calculator on this page does not involve a credit check. A credit check only happens later, with your consent, if you decide to proceed with an application.
Can I use a caravan loan if I am self-employed?
Yes. Several lenders on our panel work with self-employed applicants, and some need less paperwork than others. Whether the van is financed personally or through your business also affects who will look at it, and that is worth a conversation.
